The leading authority on Zhan Zhuang
and Da
Cheng Chuan is Professor Yu Yong Nian, a direct disciple of Grand
Master Wang Xiang Zhai. After studying under Professor Yu for a decade,
Master Lam was accorded the honour of being acknowledged as a
lineage-holder of the Da Cheng Chuan tradition by Madam Wang Yuk Fong,
the daughter and spiritual heir of Grand Master Wang Xiang Zhai. The
western students who first trained to become instructors in the
foundation practice of Da Cheng Chuan are holders of the
limited-edition statue of Grand Master Wang Xiang Zhai, held by
Professor Yu and Madam Wang in the photo.
The foundation practice of Da Cheng Chuan is Zhan Zhuang, Standing Like
a Tree. Students who have become stable in their practice of Zhan
Zhuang may be invited by Master Lam to progress further and take up Da
Cheng Chuan training.
